The three dimensions of ‘loop’:

Screen Festival: A unique deployment of video works and numerous activities in more than a hundred places all around the city. From May, 16th to May, 25th.
'Sound & Vision' and 'Poetics & Politics' are the two main themes of SCREEN, the first festival entirely dedicated to video creation, where hundreds of works will be presented in Barcelona. From the fantasy of Cerith Wyn to Nam June Paik’s experimentation, including Christian Marclay’s works, the indispensable Bruce Nauman or the fascinating Yayoi Kusama, the more surprising and interesting visual art is present in the city’s major museums, centers and theaters. 'Poetics & Politics' offers a reflexion on the political and how they are part of the poetics in contemporary video creation, and about social transformations and its dissemination on public space. Some of the highlights are the program curated by Equipo Re and Fernanda Nogueira, included in MACBA’s Programa de Estudios Independientes.

LOOP Fair: The heart of LOOP. Meeting point of the event that brings together collectors, industry professionals and artists. From May, 23th to May, 25th. LOOP Fair (Pelai, 28).
LOOP Fair’s selection committee’s, composed of the French experts Jean-Conrad and Isabelle Lemaître (the first as president) Josée and Marc Gensollen and Christopher Grimes, have selected 44 recent pieces of renowned artists that include Harun Farocki, Christoph Girardet & Matthias Mueller, Hans Op De Beeck and Adam Chodzko, among others. It also includes 19 première works by Gary Hill, Carlos Motta, Javier Pérez, Ivan Argote, Adrian Melis, Gaëlle Boucand and Ribot. These works are presented by the 44 international galleries that represent them.
As each year, three awards will be given. In this edition, the LOOP 2013 Jury, led by  Bartomeu Marí (Dir. MACBA) and composed by Val Valentijn Byvank (Dir. Marres Centre for Contemporary Culture, Maastricht), Mark Nash (independent curator) and Dirk Snauwaert (Dir. WIELS, Brussels), will distinguish the most outstanding work exhibited, as well as the most remarkable gallery proposal from this edition.

LOOP Studies: LOOP Studies is the reserved space for debate. Co-organized with the University of Barcelona, it takes place in the Auditorium of the MACBA and LOOP and presents thirty renowned art figures among musicians, filmmakers, writers, artists, curators, and international experts. From May 22nd to May 24th. MACBA Auditorium (Plaça dels Àngels, 1) and LOOP (Pelai, 28).
Through roundtables and case studies, this years edition will examine forms, strategies  and structures of collaboration throughout the artistic and cultural spectrum. LOOP opens new territories, deploying its network and participating in the debate about the role of the image in contemporary culture.  
Another highlight is the experimentation and communication of the event and its content.
This year DoingDoing, an innovative platform for communication and debate through internet, will be located in LOOP to open the event to the world by connecting the event and its protagonists with all the people willing to discuss contemporary art  and moving image.
