Veteran German photographer Ingrid Von Kruse recently presented her collection of photographic portraits at the Kowasa Gallery specialising in art and photography books within the beautiful garden located at the rear of this Barcelona institution. Eminent Architects - Seen by Ingrid von Kruse consists of a series of some 30 architects who have helped shape the built environment of the 20th C and beyond. Norman Foster, Oscar Niemeyer, Zaha Hadid, Kazuyo Sejima, David Chipperfield, Dominique Perrault and Richard Rogers are among the subjects who are photographed using an analogical Hasselblad camera in natural daylight. Each of the portraits is accompanied by a hand written summation of the architect’s design philosophy, as interesting for its content as for its calligraphy. Meticulous and yet spontaneous these captured moments are the result of a long and exhaustive research presenting more a study of character than physical presence.
