CLUBS, 3 days of exhibitions
Barcelona's clubbing culture
Clubs and clubbing are part of Barcelona’s DNA, and an important cultural form of expression. Music, performance, dance, design, sex and politics come together within the city’s clubs. Now that they are under threat of extinction because of Covid and the never ending restrictions an exhibition CLUBS reminds us of the important role that these magical, night time places have in our lives. For three days selected artists will present their interpretations within these fascinating spaces.
The Catalan Association of Concert Halls (ASACC) is organising the circuit of clubs featuring 9 icons all located around Barcelona: Apolo, Freedonia, Garage 442, Laut, Macarena, Meteoro, Razzmatazz, Sidecar and Vol. They will all be temporarily transformed into art spaces by 18 national and international artists from different disciplines with proposals that will look at diverse themes, from their practice to the concept of clubbing.
