An atrium in a garden in a block

Jardín Cervezas Alhambra

28.04.22

Casa Rius is a collection of spaces organised around a central atrium located within Placeta Joan Brossa, one of Barcelona’s hidden gems. Dating back to 1912 the building was originally used as a studio for sculptors, a place of work. Today it has the ambience of somewhere forgotten, almost abandoned. Cervezas Alhambra brings the space back to life. For the next month the precinct will host the Jardín Cervezas Alhambra initiative with a packed programme of music, art and gastronomy. Between April 22nd and May 29th there is a packed programme of workshops and performances.

The space is accessed through an old industrial building which is partially open to the elements, the performance venue lies beyond. With a total of 400 sq.m. the open plan space is filled with light.  There is a large bar at one end and a stage where musicians and djs play surrounded by tables and bleaker type seating. Workshops and other activities are facilitated by an enormous table that occupies another corner.
