A day with Eva Armisén in El Palauet

Illustrated concert + meeting with the artist + exhibition

29.12.17

On Thursday, January 4th, in El Palauet, a palazzo of the early twentieth century located in the Jardinets de Gràcia, we can enter the unique universe of the artist Eva Armisén, through a small selection of works and the following activities for all the family.

At 12 noon there will be an illustrated concert of the book-disc for children audience by Eva Armisén and the musician Marc Parrot Tots a taula! What happens when someone calls: everyone to eat!? Well, that opens the door to a world of sensations. Sometimes exciting, sometimes a horror. Sometimes the experience can last for hours and sometimes end in five minutes. Eating can be a great adventure...

And at 6:30 pm, an afterwork meeting with Armisén, who will talk about her coexistence with the Haenyeo, women divers who have been shellfishing for more than two centuries in the waters of the Jeju island (South Korea), which became a matriarchy based on the economy they generated. Eva, who was fascinated by their strength, courage, respect for nature and their ability to work as a team in the toughest conditions, has illustrated the book Mom is a Haenyeo, collaborated with Hee-young Koo in the promotion of the documentary Breathing Underwater and supported the candidacy of the Haenyeo as intangible heritage of humanity that Unesco granted them last November.

Admission is free but the capacity is very limited, so sign up to receive the access code to the event of your interest at www.elpalauet.com/shhh.
