Urban Camouflage

Porsche by 'Tween

By Brian Gallagher 25.11.13

Urban camouflage is the inspiration behind this collaboration between Porsche, the iconic German car manufacturer and ‘Tween the Turkish men’s fashion label. The revised Porsche 911 Carrera 4s was presented at the Centro Porsche Barcelona in Hospitalet de Llobregat earlier this month, the event coincided with the Spanish launch of the Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid and the Porsche 911 Turbo S presented by Alejandro Cuenca ('Tween's General Director for Spain) and Ivan Paradelo ('Tween Spain Marketing Director).

'Tween interprets camouflage as the art of mixing: The inspiration comes from the Porsche Carrera 70s, which is considered by many to be the 20th Century’s most iconic car. The reinterpretation using camouflage patterning symbolizes the interplay of modernity and innovation following the best traditions of the brand. The colouring allows the classic Porsche to loose itself within the urban environment, the 3D camouflage represents an attitude, its three-dimensional approach creates marked visual effects.

Collaborations between designers and car manufacturers are increasingly common, BoConcept and Smart, Karim Rashid and Hyundai, Gucci and Fiat to name but a few, bringing together sophisticated engineering and the best of contemporary design; science meets emotion. ‘Tween is a Turkish men’s fashion brand currently under the creative directorship of Pierangelo D'Agostini. There are two ‘Tween shops in Barcelona, one located in the Born and the other on Passeig de Gràcia.
