The art of making spaces
CULTO Interior Design
The importance of the details for an interior design project should never be underestimated, the accessories and subtle decorative elements, that perhaps at first might escape attention are in reality what make a space special. To create a dream home or even just a pleasant home it is always recommended to consult a specialist: in this case an interior designer or architect. It is their job to be able to add these special details to make a room special, or feel good to be in. Choosing the right one is fundamental to a successful resolution, and just as important as the work is establishing a synergy. The showroom for a design practice is the ideal place to start, it provides the perfect showcase for the designer’s sensibility.
For that reason CULTO INTERIOR DESIGN is worth a visit, not only to see the exclusive items of furniture, fittings and artworks but also to appreciate the clever details that are incorporated into many of its corners. The couple behind the project are Daniel Rotmensch and Irene Blanco, both originally from different backgrounds but now passionate design lovers. Daniel trained at the IED Barcelona graduating in 2010 and since then having worked on numerous interior design projects. While Irene’s background is in graphic design, they founded CULTO in 2019.

The showroom is organised as a series of spaces that start with a bedroom setting at the entrance which then transforms to a living room / salon within an open plan area. Through an arched opening a corridor and landing with two different set-ups, a fitted kitchen and bedroom storage arrangement. This area leads to an office on a mezzanine level and another basement kitchen arrangement. The furniture, lights, accessories and objets d’art are beautifully selected, many are exclusive to CULTO. The different textures and colours are carefully combined to evoke a sense of warmth and calm.

The name CULTO has a special meaning for the owners, since it is a word that evokes the concept of culture and for Daniel and Irene it is also the exact word to explain their devotion to aesthetics and beauty in design objects.

The showroom includes a selection of German kitchens, decorative marble art pieces worked in Hong Kong, lighting pieces from Paris, luxury furniture sourced from Italian, Scandinavia and other countries, local contemporary art as well as antiques from Daniel and Irene's own collection, pieces brought back home from their travels.
Visitors to the showroom will appreciate the details that make a difference scattered throughout the space: frameless door openings, hidden courtyards with potted plants, clever extractors for kitchens, graphic art works – in summary ideas and furnishings to make beautiful spaces.
