The summer is almost here and this year we are even more anxious than ever before to go out and live it to the full. After having spent so much time at home over the last few months, the lucky ones with a terrace or even a balcony will understand the sense of release that the outdoors provides. Even if it’s just a ‘Juliet balconies’ the difference that opening a window makes is notable, especially during confinement. The following pieces are all inspired by Barcelona outdoor culture and sensibility, whether it be play, lighting, sitting or just enjoying the open air.

Sustainability and respect for the environment are the hall marks of Let’s Pause. All the furniture and accessories are inspired by natural materials that are easily recycled and replaced by nature. The products are versatile with a marked organic sensibility, many can be used indoors as well as outdoors, like these benches and stools Ponza, Amalfi and Patara. Add cushions for seating on a terrace, or without cushions perfect for extra storage. No two pieces are exactly the same. Just like no two terraces are exactly the same.

Ponza 3 seater, all products are made by hand with hand-cut wood and therefore have slight irregularities, such as different thicknesses on the legs of a table or a stool. Poplar is a light wood and we let the original wood knots be part of the design.

Sofa and chair from the Gardenias collection. Structure made of cast and extruded aluminium. Powder-coated white, green or grey. Removable upholstery and removable cushion covers, waterproof and perspirable fabric.

The Portlligat lounger (1962), in a typically Daliesque confection, has a head, torso, ribs, arms, hands, legs and feet. The reproduction is made with iroko wood, is faithful to the original design and is certified by the Fundació Gala - Salvador Dalí.

Originally founded in the 1970s BD Barcelona specialises in designer furniture produced in limited editions. BD work with some of the most respected contemporary designers from both Barcelona, Spain and beyond as well as reproducing selected pieces by renowned artists and architects such as Antoni Gaudí and Salvador Dalí. The Tumbona Portlligat is from the Art Editions catalogue, a typical playful and compelling lounger in Iroko wood. While the Gardenias collection of chairs by Jaime Hayon is an open ended concept for gardens with a whimsical and fluid silhouette.

You & Me, ping pong table. Made of highly resistant materials, manufactured for use both indoors and outdoors. The black finish is recommended for use outdoors under shade together with a protective cover to avoid discoloration due to the effect of the sun. Walnut and oak finishes are for indoor use only.

The best known RS product is undoubtedly the futbolín table RS#2 one of the first of its own designs and now famous throughout the world. With a beautiful showroom and shop on the boundary between the Gràcia neighbourhood and the Eixample the company specialises in playful and alternative products. The ping pong table has been added to their repertoire of products in recent years which is available in different versions, like the futbolín.

Cesta is an iconic design for a portable lamp by Miguel Milá for Santa & Cole originally manufactured in 1962. A perennial classic of modern design that lends itself to multiple versions, Cestita Alubat is the latest version, manufactured from aluminium with a plastic shade with adjustable setting, perfect for setting the atmosphere for summer nights spent outdoors. The lamp is part of Santa & Cole’s Clasicos del Diseño collection which includes lighting and furniture elements.
