Open House 48 BCN
Once again at the end of this month of October Barcelona hosts 48h Open House, Barcelona’s architectural and design festival that gives citizens open access to private and public urban buildings. During the 27th and 28th selected porjects in Barcelona can be seen close up and personal and completely free. This, the third edition of 48 OHB_2012, includes more participants than the previous two editions which were enjoyed by 25,000 and 35,000 respectively.
New additions include the recently inaugurated IED school located in the Gràcia neighbourhood (see B-Guided #50, Winter 2012) or the Hemp Museum Gallery on C. Ample in the Barri Gòtic as well as Mercabarna-Flor (see B-Guided #41, Autumn 2009) Sant Boi de Llobregat. Timetables have also been extended and the use of social media has been added in order to give greater access to more detailed information. Be warned however that prior booking for some visits is required and queues can be long.
