Nordicthink / Frama
Back to basics
Nordicthink is Barcelona’s premier design showroom specialising in Northern European industrial design. A constant mission to introduce the city to furniture and home-ware collections that are defined by clean lines, quality materials and functionality as well as their beauty. The latest addition to the collection of brands is Frama. The Frama studio is located right at the heart of Copenhagen, within the historic neighbourhood of Nyboder. Frama is a creative platform that includes creative interior design projects, as well as product design incvluding objects and lighting.
The Frama Collection is focused on solid materials with natural finishes and geometric simplicity. Their approach to furniture and lighting represents a return to the basics where design is considered from a pure and honest perspective. Each of the products is designed based on criteria of simplicity and functionality.

Frama collections often combine contrasting materials such as steel and wood, Shelf is a case in point, a reinterpretation of the renowned 1950s Scandinavian design, the T1 table and the Adam stools. With these products their purist and minimalist philosophy is pushed to its very limits to achieve a light but solid finished product.

Some pieces from the Frama collection use sculptural forms featuring optical illusions. One example is the Diamond lamp, designed by Eric Therner in 2009; the designer changed the round shape of the classic light bulb for a diamond, coming up with a fully functional object which is in turn a decorative and sculptural element.
