Guise, matter and light
Vibia lighting collection
The Barcelona based lighting company Vibia presents Guise, a collection of lamps designed by Stefan Diez that combines craft and cutting edge LED technology. The collection which includes sconce, ceiling pendant and floor lamps represents the poetry and innovative design that defines Vibia’s approach to light.
With the Guise collection light is integrated with matter, in this case borosilicate crystal; a disk for the sconce version and glass tubes with cinched ends for the ceiling (horizontally or vertically aligned) and floor lamps. Light passes through the glass in such a way that it only becomes visible at its edges or through the striations that form part of its crafted expression. The simplicity betrays an intensive process of experimentation and trial.

Guise features cutting edge technology that includes the LEDs as well as a sophisticated sensor that allows the intensity of the light to be controlled based on proximity without the need for actual contact, making sure the crystal remains pristine.
