Good Goods

Second hand design pieces

By Brian Gallagher 14.01.21

For design lovers finding that special piece of furniture, a lamp or other decorative object is like a coup de coeur, a feeling that defies rational explanation but appeals directly to our emotions. The overwhelming desire to possess a specific piece of design is hard to overcome when this happens. For Stefano Colli this is a familiar feeling and one that explains his collection of 20th Century design pieces accumulated over 30 years. The Italian architect who lives and works in Barcelona has now given form to this collection through the virtual platform Good goods. A virtual gallery, in which masterpieces of ‘good’ design are curated and collected. Some are on sale, others form part of a collection that has been created little by little inspired by his great passion for the culture of industrial design, especially furniture and lighting.

The project represents a very personal odyssey which began when Colli moved to Barcelona during the 90s and little by little began collecting pieces under the very simple criteria of pieces that appealed to him. It all started off with a gift from his father in law and subsequently grew into a proper collection over the intervening years, guided by one overarching principle, his own taste. Having outgrown his garage which had become his warehouse/gallery he decided to create a virtual shop online where information and contacts can be established around the collection. Each element is treated individually with an informative file that reflects the story behind each piece and the relationship with the owner which is part of its charm and history.
