Good, better, FADfest Design

A comprehensive exhibition featuring the best industrial design, architectural, interior and graphic design design, packaging, advertising, arts and crafts as well as fashion from the last year which celebrates its fourth edition.

FAD (Fomento de las Artes y el Diseño) will be celebrating the fourth edition of FADfest between June 25th and July 10th, the festival includes practically all design related disciplines, from fashion to architecture and interior design, product design, graphics, advertising as well as crafts with a diverse range of activities that includes exhibitions, workshops, conferences and a mini film festival.

    During the next 15 days FADfest which takes place at the Disseny Hub Barcelona (DHUB) will be offering a complete programme of international profile activities aiming to bring design closer to the everyday citizen’s experience and display the best design from various different sectors.

    The “The years’ best design” exhibition brings together the finalists and winners from the various awards and different associations of design professionals that make up FAD. There are more than 500 individual items on display here which are sourced from, amongst others MODAFAD (fashion) emerging designers, ArtFAD artists and craftsmen/women, Delta industrial design, the FAD architectural and interior design awards as well as Laus which features graphics and visual communication. These last three orgamisations have been around for more than 50 years and are well established references in Spain’s creative circles. More than 50,000 visitors attended last years’ exhibition.

    The exhibition offers the public the chance to see the best projects of the year within the various disciplines of design and find out about what is happening in Spain’s creative fields. This year the exhibition also features a section on the best design and architecture student projects, introducing these new talents to a wider audience and revealing their concerns.

    As well as the “The years’ best design” exhibition FADfest also includes other events aimed at the general public like the Design and Cinema Cycle film selection which features films inspired by or featuring design.

    Another of the most popular activities is the emerging designers fashion show MODAFAD together with the fashion market MerkaFAD, where the public can buy the clothes designed by the featured young talent. Last but not least for a more specialized audience, the Open International Design Congress / Shared Creativity and the 'Rock Paper Pixel. Communication in design'. events will also be taking place.
