Gancedo, one of the leading Spanish companies in interior design textiles is reinventing itself with a new Showroom Studio in Barcelona at C/ Pau Claris 115 (moving from its previous location on Rambla Catalunya) with a focus on catering to the professional and contract sector. The showroom reinforces Gancedo’s position as designers and providers of not only textiles but wallpapers, carpets, paints and other finishes with shops in Madrid, Valencia, Marbella and the Canary Islands. As well as subsidiaries in Mexico and a worldwide distribution network.
The new headquarters is very different to the previous premises, with a marked industrial quality. The showroom which can be visited by appointment only includes a large open space with rooflights, allowing all the samples to be seen under natural lighting during the hours of daylight. Designed by the architectural studio Acto, all of the various textiles and other products are organised on a custom-made system of rails and sliding mechanisms that line the perimeter of the space.

The corporate colour, a Klein blue hue, is the only colourful element, everything else is in white to allow the products take centre stage. A series of large semi-circular metal tables on casters can be moved around with space to create mood boards and comparisons. And the rear area is slightly raised off the ground to provide a space that recreates an indoor garden or patio for displaying external fabrics.

Founded in Barcelona in 1945 by José Gancedo Otero and his brother Bernardo, nowadays Gancedo is an international brand, and continues to be a family business, now in its fourth generation. In addition to textile decoration there are also wallpapers, rugs, trimmings, paints and, above all, professional experts to inspire, advise and help creators of spaces to connect with beauty, innovation and design.
