Lounge lighting by Lázaro Rosa-Violán
The renowned Barcelona based interior designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán has launched his first collaboration with the respected Metalarte lighting company, in fact it’s the first industrial product that he has designed after forging a career as one of the world’s most successful and recognisable interior designers with projects located all over the globe, from restaurants to hotels, retail to food halls, cocktail bars to clubs.
Metalarte forms part of the Grupo Luxiona, a network of lighting companies specialising in high-end architectural and technical lighting solutions. Originally founded in 1932 Metalarte produce timeless decorative lighting products, combining tradition typologies with technological advances. Over the years the company has worked with a who’s who of Spanish industrial designers.

The Frank lighting collection is made up of a table lamp measuring 70 cm in height and a floor lamp measuring 170 cm. With natural leather strap details the structure is available in painted steel finish in gloss black, gloss copper plate and gloss nickel for the floor lamp. There are two colour options for the Sardo textile external covering for the shade, black or white, while the inside only features white.

The collections represent a new category within Metalarte’s lighting catalogue given the name Atelier. The first two launches are Frank and Eva, two unique lamps that reflect the personality of their author, a limited series production just like a capsule couture collection that feature solid materials and a craft based approach which requires numerous specialist skills. The lamps are defined by their luxurious materials, impeccable finish and eclectic collection of elements that fit together like an assemblage of found objects. Classic forms that are somehow familiar yet new at the same time.

The Eva lighting collection provides an ambient light and includes two table lamp models (one measuring 76.5 cm and another of 69 cm) and a foor lamp measuring 156.5 cm. The models are provided with a black marble base and a brass structure with a textile shade, in either white or black. The white marble version has a gloss nickel structure and pyrex glass shade.
