FC Barcelona Museum
Reflecting on one of the world’s most famous football clubs the museum forms an important part of a visitor’s experience to the home of FC Barcelona, it is consequently one of the most visited museums in Catalonia. Recently refurbished and designed by the multidisciplinary design company Exitdesign (together with Mediapro) the museum makes use of the latest technological hardware and media including interactive mural installations, audiovisual displays as well as the more traditional approach; physical objects and artefacts housed in glass display cabinets lining the museum walls. The museum is housed in a separate building located adjacent to the Camp Nou stadium connected to it by two pedestrian bridge structures. Divided over two floors the first floor display organises the club’s history into chronological order and communicates the values espoused by the club which was founded in 1899 and is entirely owned by its members. The second floor aims at evoking the emotion behind the club’s illustrious past and many moments of glory. A visit to the museum is completed by a tour of the stadium itself, the site of much of the passion represented within the museum.
