Craft jewellery
Creative craft jewellery design will be on display once again in Barcelona this coming October 9th at this years edition of Enjoia’t 2014, the 20th anniversary of these excellent design awards which have an even greater international profile this year with 70% of the pieces submitted sourced from other countries. Within the framework of the JOYA jewellery fair the semi-finalists will be exhibited at Barcelona’s Arts Santa Mónica, Les Rambles 7.
Enjoia't, Contemporary Jewellery Awards is a unique event within the sector which for 20 years has recognised the most outstanding craft jewellery within both professional and student sectors.
Much more than an awards festival Enjoia’t celebrates creativity and provides a common ground between design professionals where work of genuine quality can be exhibited to the general public.
Under the framework of JOYA, Barcelona’s Contemporary Jewellery Fair, which this year takes place between the 9th until the 11th of October at the Arts Santa Monica, Enjoia't will be exhibited on the first floor with all the 20 semi-finalists works included, the jury of this edition consists of Lourdes Carmelo, contemporary jeweller; Imma Battle, jeweller and editor of the Des del Sud blog and creator of CAT. Joieria Contemporània; Magda Polo, Doctor of Philosophy of Art and president of A-FAD; Rutger Emmelkamp, head of the Department of Jewellery of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, and Marta Miguel, contemporary jeweller.
The work of last years finalists will be exhibited in the basment of Arts Santa Mónica; Frédérique Coomans (Enjoia't Professional Award) and Xiao Liu (Enjoia't Student Award ).
On October 9th the semi-finalists will present their work to the jury, wearing their own creations or modelled by others. This presentation of the piece and the explanation of the inspiration behind them for the selected designers form an important part of the assessment of the jury, which will select a winner for the professional and student awards as well as two additional finalists in each category.
