Cocobooks
Written by Ewa Solarz and illustrated by Aleksandra and Daniel Mizielinski DISEÑO is published by Cocobooks the children’s book specialists that have an equal appeal for adult readers. The official launch took place at Bd Barcelona showroom, introduced by Juli Capella and Javier Mariscal (himself featured in the book) amidst some of the most iconic Spanish designer pieces over recent decades. Available in Catalan and Spanish editions.
DESIGN is a chronological journey through some of the most outstanding design objects to be found in the domestic realm from over the last 150 years. The book layout is highly graphic using cartoon like drawings to communicate the history and inspiration behind each of the selected pieces. Examples include classic pieces from Spanish and international designers such as Thonet, Dalí and Mies Van der Rohe; some of the most functional pieces from the likes of De Lucchi, Frank Gehry and Philippe Starck, and even includes left-field designers Jaime Hayón, Ingo Maurer, Martí Guixé and Javier Mariscal.
