New collections by Nanimarquina
This year with the cancellation of the Salone del Mobile and most of the other design related trade shows manufactures are forced to look for alternatives to present their designs for furniture and other related products. Under these circumstances the catalogue becomes even more important than normal. The new collections presented by Nanimarquina this year include Colors and Flora, designed in Barcelona and manufactured in India.
The presentations have been filmed and photographed in and around Barcelona with images made at La Fábrica by local architect Ricardo Bofill. Fans of Westworld and other Netflix series will recognise the complex of an old abandoned concrete factory that was refurbished by Bofill in the id 1970s as his home and office. Nanimarquina’s rugs have been photographed ehre and in other iconic locations for the new 2020 catalogue.

Flora is a new collaboration with the Barcelona artist Snati Moix, which came about thanks because of Nani Marquina’s great admiration for his work.

For this collaboration, art works were selected where the artist explores the relationship between life and death through his biomorphic flowers. His use of colour goes beyond being merely decorative, used as a resource to enhance and attenuate certain details, paying special attention to in-between areas; those processes that defy categorisation, such as before their bloom, their explosion of colour or their final decay.

The collection consists of three different models, canvases that capture the beauty of Moix's flowers: Backyard, Promenade and Bloom. Thanks to the teamwork between the artist, designers and artisans, the three models capture their work and essence. They are made using a high quality hand tufted technique that allows a lot of detail.

Colors is a new collection of strong, saturated and energetic colors designed by Nani Marquina.

An abstract vision of the colours drawn from nature that represents the first smooth dhurrie in the catalogue of the Barcelona company. It can be combined with amorphous flowers from the Flora collection in collaboration with the artist Santi Moix. A superior quality dhurrie made in India.
