The Chocolate Kitchen

03.10.16

After the success of their first shop Chök, the chocolate kitchen, has now opened its second space in Barcelona’s city centre, at Ramelleres 26 (between Talleres and the Plaza del Bonsuccés). The interior design focus of Chök, the chocolate kitchen is to create spaces where the kitchen is always the central element in such a way that customers can view the cooking process and even participate in workshops. Each of the shop interiors is unique and designed to reflect an individual character. The concept and design for the brand was conceived by Intsight together with espluga+associates.

With the Ramelleres shop the kitchen is treated as an industrial installation, with clean geometric lines featuring stainless steel counter-tops which opens directly into the street through a large plate-glass window. The space is clad with natural wood combined with soft colours, allowing the products on sale to dominate the space, with its characteristic approach to displaying the star product, the chöks (a mixture between a croissant and a donut but with fewer calories).

The furniture is all bespoke, a combination of wood, enamelled metal and silestone. The lighting and the signage are very subtle and allow the minimalist space to keep the focus on the products.
