CENT is an ingenious collection of plates created by Luis Eslava presented earlier this week at il Giardinetto, the renowned timeless Barcelona restaurant on C. La Granada del Penedès originally designed by Alfonso Milá and Federico Correa. An apertif was served created by chef Sergi Millet for il Giardinetto: Bologna Mortadela (Italian sausage) and Coppa de Parma (Pork sausage), Fried Smoke Aubergine Ravioli with Yogurt Sauce, Fried Sausage Ravioli with ‘Giardinetto’ Tomato Sauce and Gorgonzola Risotto.

Cent is a collection of serving dishes produced in collaboration between Luis Eslava and chef Andreu Genestra, an investigation into new ways of presenting food as well as introducing new materials not normally used for serving food. Once the designers ignored the traditional stagnant way of eating a range of possibilities opened up, given that the act of eating is not really just about simple nourishment but is rather a social interaction, a cultural expression. Like having a drink, Cent is about the fluidity of good conversation and those moments in life when we share more than just cuisine.
