Last October 1st 2015 the Barcelona Designers Collective a pop-up store sponsored by La Roca Village was opened, for this its second edition FAD (the national organisation for the promotion of the Arts and Design ) has provided a close collaboration. 50 designers from different design disciplines, selected by FAD will be exhibited and available to purchase at La Roca Village until November 8th at the pop-up store.
The pop-up store brings together more than 200 highly creative products representing an excellent overview of the best of local design, young, fresh and contemporary fashion, design products, craft, contemporary jewellery, graphics and illustration. A multitude of brands and emerging designers such as Alex Trochut, Brosmind, Andreu Carulla, Bussoga, INC, Hunch, Ölend, Paloma Wool o Martina Pont are brought together here at this exclusive and unique space dedicated to independent design in Barcelona their creations are presented side by side with some of the most prestigious national and international companies featured at La Roca Village.

The presentation of the project brought together emerging talents with large established designers who have endorsed. Elena Foguet, Business Director of Value Retail Spain, who acted as hostess at the inauguration, said “this initiative also helps younger talents to get ahead but without compromising their DNA or their origins but allows them to widen their contacts with their ultimate clients as a fundamental part of the brand and they business they will ultimately develop. That is the essence of the Barcelona Designers Collective.”
Nani Marquina, president of FAD, explained how this one-hundred-year-old institution of designers made their selection of creative talents, through the various associations of different design disciplines which form FAD. She also highlighted the importance of designers own-productions and personal branding as a way of breaking into design and advised young artists "keep close to customers to see how they respond when reacting to their designs,", after she explained about her experience as a designer who, like them, began by producing her own designs.
Fern Mallis, the renowned founder of the New Cork Fashion Week, was also present. An expert in the promotion of younger designers she stated that she as “ very happy to be at La Roca Village” given her belief in “nurturing, discovering and aiding new design talent in the very same way as the Barcelona Designers Collective project.”

Barcelona Designers Collective is part of an project already consolidated international The Village Collection by Value Retail, which has editions in Fidenza Village (Milan), Bicester Village (London) and La Roca Village (Barcelona), which have been very successful and made an impact, and whose aim is to discover, promote and support emerging talent.
