Back and Forth
Lagranja at il.lacions
Lagranja is a multi-disciplinary design studio based in Barcelona that celebrates its 20 year anniversary this year. Their projects include furniture, interiors and strategising for companies and other entities. And their clients include a roll call of some of the most important national and international companies. To celebrate this important milestone Il.lacions design gallery invited Lagranja to display their work. The exhibition runs till February of 2023 and includes three specifically designed pieces, Dice, Chaise Longue and Jarvis. As well as an installation that includes selected projects from over the years which helps explain the processes behind their work. Back and Forth takes its name from the ongoing dialogue that defines the work.

The "Chaise Longue" evokes the future, the use of new technologies. Its birth stems from the desire to take advantage of the disposable "scaffolding" that supports the models produced in 3D printing. The Chaise Longue is "pure support" without a piece. Large in size, its print is a mixture of PLA and cellulose pellets, a unique finish for this museum-worthy piece.

In an age where packaging is ubiquitous and takes on excessive importance, the "Jarvis" stools turn it into a piece of furniture. Produced by hand, with "pulp" of recycled paper, they form a limited collection of 50 pieces in 3 colors. Chips that once processed with water and glue end up being an extremely resistant piece thanks to its geometry reinforced by a central rib.

The "Dice" chairs are pure poetry, they represent play and freedom when creating. A collection made up of two unique chairs built from a metal tube structure and a lining of 3,527 16x16mm dice.
