Exuding the firm’s philosophy where materials like horsehair, wool, cotton, pine wood, linen and duck down are the main feature. HIGHLIGHT; Hästens is Sweden’s oldest manufacturer of beds, with 161 years of experience and traditional craft it still makes all its beds by hand in order to achieve the best possible night’s sleep. It is also the official provider to the Swedish Royal House. Current owner Jan Ryde is the great great grandson of the firm’s founder. PRODUCT; Hästens’ unique patented ‘blue check’ fabric is used in most of its products, the extraordinary beds, the accessories, the bed clothes and even the pyjamas. RECOMMENDED; visiting the showroom and seeing first hand the latest models, Lenoria and Novoria which were just launched in 2012 and feature the traditional craft techniques as well as modern innovation of the firm. The blankets made from Baby Alpaca wool sourced from Peruvian Alpaca, a unique accessory that will be available in all Hastens showrooms from the month of February 2013.
