OFFERING: Dishes converted into sandwiches (meatballs, marinated dogfish, 'sea and mountain'...) and classic sandwiches such as squid or veal ‘pepito’. Tapas and dishes (Croquettes, Bomba, Cádiz ensaladilla, Battered ortiguillas, Shrimp cake, Garlic prawns, Black squid omelette in its ink, Octopus with textured corn and lime aioli, Noodles with oxtail, truffle oil and parmesan…). Well-drafted beer and a variety of wines by the glass. HIGHLIGHT: The owner, Kim Díaz, hired veteran, friendly, uniformed and hard-working professionals to manage the establishment. The photos on the coasters are portraits of the staff as children. INTERIOR: On entering it's like going back to one of those old Madrid bars, with a bar-counter, some marble tables to sit at, and two windows with stools to eat either inside and outside. On the walls, clocks that mark the time of different neighbourhoods in the country, Sophia Loren and Jayne Mansfield, and a collection of seven compliments. RECOMMENDED: The Antxón sandwich, with egg cooked at low-temperature, chistorra and spun potatoes. The humorous ‘friction’ with a waiter or the owner. AVERAGE PRICE: 20-30 €.
