Chandigarh Café
Delicious food in an amazing place
OFFERING: Mediterranean served in an informal and colourful setting. Vegetarian recipes, pasta, pizza, fish and meat prepared in the Josper oven.
HIGHLIGHT: Chandigarh Café is guaranteed to surprise, an oasis removed from the hubbub of the city, not what you’d expect to find in Barcelona. It is accommodated within a residential house from the 50s with a wonderful terrace-garden filled with trees and plants where you can eat al fresco.
INTERIOR: Created by one of the owners, Paula Ospina, inspired by the design of the 1950s, Charlotte Perriand and Chandigarh (the city that its named after) the colours and the leitmotif of “living with joy and simplicity” that inspired Le Corbusier when he was planning the Indian city.
RECOMMENDED: Grab the large round table that overlooks the garden, try several of the starters to share, such as Tarama or baked Aubergine with samfaina and yogurt, followed by a green Risotto, Steak tartare or baked Corvina in the wood-fired oven; paired with the natural wines, and not forgetting the homemade desserts such as the 70% Cuba chocolate mousse or the ‘floating island’.
PRICE: À-la-carte, 27 Eur.
