Barra Alta

Product-inspired cuisine

OFFERING: Quality produce at reasonable prices, in re-imagined classic dishes as well as international options. HIGHLIGHT: Chefs César Guillén and Daniel Roca are lovers of traditional cuisine, over the years they have put together an impressive list of suppliers, now friends. One of them Carlos Piernas (Carpier) supplies the smoked salmon, smoked using natural pine cones sourced from the Maresme; Thierry of Huîtres Poget, Normandy oysters; Joselito, acorn-fed Iberian pork... INTERIOR: Contemporary décor with a bar counter offering views into the kitchen. RECOMMENDED: Start off with some oysters in ceviche, pickled or natural. Continue with either a selection of hot or cold tapas (Blue prawn Russian salad freshly cooked or the Mini squid brioche with roasted garlic mayonnaise). Followed by a main (for example, the Thai-style Mediterranean Gallo: fried with Asian sauces, basil, mint and coconut, served over its oven baked spine, also edible). And to end a homemade dessert: the highlight of the menu choices is a creamy cheesecake, made with four eclectic varieties. There’s a small but carefully selected of wine list. PRICE: 40 Eur.
