• Design: a very contemporary design that symbolises perfectly the reinvention of Barcelona for the 21st C. The architectural project is a collaboration between Josep María Blanco and T. Cursach together with the Majorcan studio CMV Arquitectes; forming part of the master-plan for the area first envisioned by Pere Puig back in 2002. The oval shaped tower is covered with a metal mesh that reflects the sun’s rays based on its orientation, making for a constantly changing façade during the course of the day.
• Highlights: thanks to its location (at the heart of the Raval, Barcelona’s alternative cultural epicentre and hub), the B-Lounge (recommended by the Michelín Guide) and its cutting edge design (with a swimming pool and sun deck on the penthouse level), the hotel has been awarded numerous prizes, including the Zoover 2012 recommendation, the Tripadvisor 2012 certificate of excellence, Traveller’s Choice certificate and nominated for a second year in a row by the World Travel Awards in the European designer hotel category.
